African Female Voices is a pan-African platform dedicated to amplifying the stories, leadership, achievements, and experiences of African women and girls. Through storytelling, advocacy, research, and community engagement, we seek to elevate women's voices and contribute to gender equality across the continent.
About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Volunteer Researcher to support the research and evidence-building behind our advocacy campaigns, programmes, publications, and strategic initiatives.
The successful candidate will help ensure that African Female Voices produces content and advocacy work that is informed by credible evidence, emerging trends, and the lived realities of African women and girls.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research to inform advocacy campaigns, programmes, and strategic initiatives.
- Produce research briefs, fact sheets, literature reviews, and evidence summaries.
- Monitor policy developments, emerging issues, and trends affecting African women and girls.
- Support the development of campaign messaging through data, evidence, and research insights.
- Conduct desk research, interviews, surveys, and consultations where necessary.
- Collaborate with editorial and programme teams to ensure content is accurate and evidence-based.
- Translate complex research findings into accessible and engaging knowledge products.
- Build relationships with researchers, academics, civil society organizations, and subject-matter experts.
Who We're Looking For
- Students, graduates, early-career professionals, activists, or experienced researchers with an interest in gender equality and social impact.
- Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
- Interest in women's rights, leadership, development, policy, advocacy, or social justice issues in Africa.
- Experience conducting qualitative or quantitative research is an advantage but not required.

Time Commitment
This is a volunteer role requiring a flexible commitment of up to 20 hours per week.
